There’s a new 3rd party Wii balance board being released in Sept from NJoy(who?). It features an LCD weight readout, as well as some other new features. It’s being called the G-Board Balance Board.
I give you the silicone balance board cover. $15 at Circuit City today. I would say that this was probably a ploy by Nintendo to make me buy more accessories, but I didn’t see any covers made by Nintendo – this one’s generic. I’m still mystified, but now my balance board is sparkling clean.

`I’d like to preface this by saying that on April 5th I experienced a pretty gnarly bowling/ Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom/chihuahua lifting related ‘incident’ which left my back and right leg pretty bad off. I’m just now getting back to mostly normal.

You’re safe here, my precious.
I’ve had this day marked on the calendar in my phone for some time. The day the Wii Fit was to come into my life. I had the alarm set for 7am, as the ad in the paper clearly stated that a minimum of 16 would be available at my local Target at 8am. I rolled out of bed around 9 this morning and gasped. I had overslept! I envisioned the line curling around the building the way it did the day after Thanksgiving. Soccer moms and bratty kids who had taken the day off from school, dads, 20somethings like myself, and most of all, tons of nerds would be in that line. I thought for sure by the time I arrived around 9:15 they would have all been scooped up. I might catch an elbow to the face for the very last one…or give it. Eurogamer reports that EA Games is in the process of making a new fitness game for the Wii. It’s going to be based more on “western” fitness as opposed to the “eastern, holistic” fitness inspiration that Wii Fit pulls from.
